Number Sequencing - What Comes Before, After & In Between?
After learning how to count up to 100, children sometimes struggle with the concept of the sequencing of numbers out of order. What comes before 75? What comes after 42? What goes in between 31 and 33?
In her classroom, Manel Wickremasinghe would make up sheets with rows of numbers on them for children to write down the appropriate number that would come either before, after or in between the numbers on the sheets. This download recreates those sheets for you to print out and use with your children/students.
You can choose to physically write the answers in the boxes, or cut out the provided number tiles and place them onto the sheets. The number tiles can be helpful if you provide only the answers required for the sheet or column to help narrow down the choices.
After working with this activity a few times your child will have a much better grasp on the sequencing of numbers.
